Terms and Conditions

Tickets are sold by Warwick Arts Centre which is a department of the University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7AL.

By purchasing a ticket by telephone, over the counter, online or via an agency, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions of sale.

You undertake that all details provided to us for the purpose of booking, ordering or purchasing tickets, goods or services are correct, that the credit or debit card you are using is your own and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the tickets, product or service. If there are any changes to the details supplied it is your responsibility to inform us of those changes.

All tickets and any discounts are offered subject to availability at the time of booking.

We will send confirmation that we have received of your order by e-mail, but please note that this does not guarantee the ticket sale.

 

Booking Your Tickets

Tickets can be purchased online 24 hours a day, by telephone on 024 7649 6000 (please note opening hours are variable), or in person over the counter during Box Office opening hours. 

We encourage bookers to choose free e-tickets as their preferred choice of delivery. These can be stored on your mobile device or printed out to gain entry to our auditoria. 

We can also issue tickets by post for a small charge, or by collecting from Box Office.

Please check your ticket details carefully as mistakes cannot be rectified after the booking has been confirmed.

For your safety and security you will be asked to provide your name, address, postcode, email address and a telephone number when making a booking.

Tickets purchased from Warwick Arts Centre cannot be resold for commercial gain. We may cancel tickets and refuse entry if we have reason to believe this condition has not been respected. Customer accounts may also be suspended.

Refunds will only be given if a performance is cancelled or rescheduled. 

Payment

We accept payment by Visa, Delta, Mastercard, Maestro and Theatre Tokens or Warwick Arts Centre Gift Vouchers.

Reservations

We can reserve tickets without payment for a certain period of time. A Ticketing & Reception Assistant will be able to advise you further.

Discounts

Discounted tickets, if available, are shown in brackets and available to over 60s in full time retirement, under 16s, recipients of job seekers allowance, students aged 16+ with a valid educational institute ID (NUS Extra is not accepted), and GoCV+ holders. Discounts cannot be combined with other offers (unless specifically stated), or applied retrospectively, and may be withdrawn at any time. Proof of ID may be requested.

Offers

From time to time we may make additional special offers in addition to those published in brochures or on our website.

Ticket Pricing

Booking Fee

A non-refundable booking fee is added to all ticket prices, whether on the phone, in person or online. The booking fee is included in the published price of all tickets. 

Booking fees for any events on sale from Monday 2 June 2025 onwards are as follows:

Live Events

Butterworth Hall: £4

Theatre: £3

Studio: £1.50

All other venues: £1 

Cinema 

Cinema £1.50

Booking fees for any events that went on sale prior to Monday 2 June 2025 onwards are as follows:

The booking fee applies to ALL tickets whether purchased by phone, online or over the counter. The booking fee is invested back into the organisation, helping to maintain the programme, services and activities you experience during your visit to Warwick Arts Centre.

Ticket Refunds

If an event goes ahead as scheduled, tickets are not refundable.

If an artist cancels their performance at Warwick Arts Centre we will refund tickets, booking fee and any ticket insurance purchased, but not any additional travel, accommodation or other additional consequential losses.

Refunds will be issued to either the original payment method.

Ticket Exchanges

If you are unable to attend tickets can be exchanged for another performance or for a credit voucher (to the equivalent face value less the booking fee) valid for 365 days (Credit vouchers can only be redeemed against future ticket purchases). 

If you would like to take advantage of this service you must return proof of your original tickets to the Box Office via email at least 24 hours before the performance (14 days for groups of 9+). There is an administration fee of £1 per ticket on live events. Film tickets can be exchanged for no additional fee. Tickets purchased as part of a subscription cannot be exchanged for credit vouchers. 

Cancelled performances

If a performance is cancelled, with sufficient notice we will, where possible, endeavour to contact audiences in advance by email, and, if necessary by phone. We will also post updates on our website, and, if possible, on our social channels. We will replace tickets for an alternative date or, if this is not possible, refund the ticket value, the booking fee and any ticket insurance purchased. In the event of a cancelled performance, Warwick Arts Centre will not be liable for any additional travel or accommodation expenses or any other additional consequential losses.

Changes to programme

Artists, programme and performance details are correct at the time of sale or print publication, but changes may be unavoidable.

Warwick Arts Centre reserves the right to alter the performance and cast as advertised in advance, where such alterations are necessary owing to unforeseen circumstances.

Should the line-up changed, Warwick Arts Centre will not be liable for the payment of any compensation or for any loss of money and/or expenses incurred.

Warwick Arts Centre reserves the right to change the start and finish times of any performance.

Warwick Arts Centre reserves the right to alter the location of your seat without prior notice. Should this be necessary we will reimburse any reduction in value between your original seat and your new location.

Reselling tickets

Tickets purchased from Warwick Arts Centre cannot be resold for commercial gain. We may cancel tickets and refuse entry if we have reason to believe this condition has not been respected. Customer accounts may also be suspended.

Ticket Agents

Warwick Arts Centre occasionally sells tickets through agencies such as Ticketmaster or See Tickets. Agency tickets may be subject to different terms and conditions – please check their websites for details. We accept no responsibility for tickets or services purchased via an agency or third party.

Ticket Insurance

Customers may opt into the SecureMyBooking Ticket Refund Protection Programme on selected events for £1.95 per ticket.

This insurance covers:

  • Accident, injury or illness (including Covid-19)
  • Severe weather preventing travel to the venue
  • Travel delays due to breakdown or public transit failures

Tickets for Schools

For certain events, tickets can be purchased at reduced prices for teacher-led school/college groups. See our website, brochure or email [javascript protected email address]. Tickets for school groups must be paid for no later than 14 days prior to a performance.

Tickets for Groups

For certain live events, group discounts are offered to groups of 9 or more people - please email the Box Office or see our brochure for further details of these discounts. 

For film screenings, group discounts are available for parties of 5 or more. 

Different group rates apply on Christmas shows.

Age Restrictions

Babies and Children aged 24 months or younger

To comply with our licensing regulations all children, including babes-in-arms, must have an admission ticket.

For children's shows aimed at children aged under 2 ALL attenders, including the child, MUST purchase a ticket.

For most children's shows not directly aimed at children under 2 :

  • Babies under 12 months of age may attend free of charge with a valid Babes in Arms or Baby Pass ticket
  • Children aged 12 months to 24 months will be charged £4
  • Children aged over 2 will be charged the advertised children’s price

Please note that, occasionally, the above is not applicable and different conditions apply. Please always refer to the event page for clarification.

For certain other live events, babes in arms may be admitted although they must have a ticket to comply with our licensing regulations. Please check suitability of the performance with Box Office in advance.

Age Policy for Cinema and Live Programme spaces

Our Visitor Experience Assistants will challenge anyone trying to enter into the Cinema or Live venues if they look underage or are unaccompanied when they should be.

Cinema:

  • Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+ years when attending the cinema.
  • Age restrictions and guidance are in place for all films (U, PG, 12, 12A, 15, 18) which is stated on the booking pages.

Live Programme Spaces:

  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+ years when attending events or performances in our Live Programme spaces.
  • Age guidance is provided for all performances on the event and booking pages.

Access

We are here to welcome you. If you have any access requests, please let us know when you book and we will do all we can to accommodate your needs. Please see our Access page for more information.

Latecomers

If you arrive late we appreciate that you’ll want to take your seats on arrival. However to limit disturbance to fellow audience members and artists we may ask you to wait until a suitable break in the performance. The length of time you will need to wait will be at the visiting artists' discretion and will vary depending on the event. This may be the interval, and on occasions we cannot guarantee entry.

Personal Property

Persons attending the venue are responsible for their own possessions so please take care of all personal property. Warwick Arts Centre will not be liable for any loss or damage to personal property brought into the venue.

Safety & Venue Information

Everyone entering the auditoria needs a valid paper ticket or e-ticket which must be produced on arrival and shown to a member of staff. 

All persons must follow the instructions of any officials of the venue. Any persons in breach of this clause may be removed from the premises.

Warwick Arts Centre reserves the right to refuse admission or to remove audience members from the premises at our discretion without any right to a refund (if applicable) including, for example, where we consider your presence or behaviour may affect the enjoyment, safety and/or wellbeing of other customers or our staff. In particular, but without limit, violent, aggressive, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or insulting behaviour or language will not be tolerated.

Anyone found to be causing damage to the venue, the venue infrastructure, causing harm to any other person at the venue, being disrespectful to staff, behaving in an illegal, anti-social or aggressive manner, appearing to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, or in breach of these conditions, may be ejected and may be reported to the police.

In the interest of safety and security, bags, glasses, cameras and recording equipment are not allowed in the auditoria. Mobile phones, pagers and digital watches must be turned off at all times during the performance/screening. The use of mobile phones is restricted – please see on site signage for details.

We may, on occasion, conduct person and/or bag security searches.

The following articles are not permitted in the venue: knives, fireworks, smoke or gas canisters (including aerosols and nitrous oxide), megaphones, air-horns, whistles, banners, flags, sound systems, flares, weapons, dangerous and hazardous items, laser devices, glass vessels, poles, selfie sticks, unauthorised items for trading including any goods using unauthorised venue/event logos and any article that might be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety.

No bottles are permitted in the auditoria.

Any large item such as suitcases, large holdalls, rucksacks or any item which may obstruct access & egress must be left in our cloakroom for a small charge.

Animals other than Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs are not allowed in the auditoria.

The entire building is a non-smoking area.

Unauthorised trading within the buildings is not permitted.

Filming

We do not permit unauthorised use of cameras and recording equipment within the auditoria and foyers.

As a member of the audience you may be filmed, photographed or recorded for broadcasts, security or health and safety reasons. Purchase of a ticket signifies your consent to being included in and to the exploitation of such films and recordings without any rights for payment.

On occasions, Warwick Arts Centre, University of Warwick and third parties may carry out general filming and sound recording in or around the venue. 

Complaints

If you have complaints relating to any aspect of the performance please contact the Duty Manager as soon as possible, preferably before the performance or during the event – any of our Visitor Experience Assistants will be able to find the Duty Manager to assist you. Any complaints regarding a performance or any aspect of your visit must be made within 7 days of the performance.

Privacy Notice

Warwick Arts Centre is a department of the University of Warwick. We take data protection seriously and are committed to protecting your personal data and are transparent about the information Warwick Arts Centre holds about you. Please refer to our Privacy Notice which informs you how we use and look after your personal data when you engage with Warwick Arts Centre, and also inform you of your privacy rights.

When processing your booking (whether over the phone, in person or online) we will ask you for your name, address, email and telephone number (essential information for all bookings). We will also ask you if you would like to be kept informed about forthcoming events and campaigns at Warwick Arts Centre. As part of our funding agreement with Arts Council England we will also ask if you would like your information shared with visiting companies in receipt of Arts Council funding.

Your data is used by us for the following purposes:

  • To inform you of any relevant changes to the programme
  • To contact you with communications to keep you up to date with information about our events, services, activities, news and opportunities which you may be interested to hear about
  • For purposes of audience research
  • For statistical reporting
  • To inform you of fundraising campaigns

You may exercise rights in respect of your personal data. These are the right of access to it, to rectify inaccurate information, to restrict processing or erase personal data, to object to our processing of it and to transfer it to another controller.
